After traveling to Palm Springs, California for Modernism Week as vendors, David and Jason Annecy of Gay Fad Studios, along with Jonett Haberfield of Visit Fairfield County, the concept for the Bottoms Up event began to take shape like a sunburst of creation. As their minds converged, they realized it would be feasible to replicate something similar in Glass Town, given the rich history and legacy of the area, which includes Anchor Hocking and Gay Fad Studios.

"It was seeing the excitement of people we met at the show as we told them about the history of Gay Fad and Anchor that we could see there was a lot of interest in learning about our unique history, and it just made sense to leverage a very honest aspect of who we are as a community," said David Annecy. The idea didn't solidify until February 2024 when Jonett met with Jason Crabil at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio. Despite the limited timeframe, the Annecys and Jonett managed to rally 35 downtown businesses, 20 national vendors, and 10 presenters, with each of the downtown museums participating as hosts for this weekend-long event.

The team from Gay Fad Studios, Visit Fairfield County, Destination Downtown Lancaster, and their partnering businesses are poised to deliver an exciting event that will leave attendees eager to return year after year.

With two special guests added to the event lineup, anticipation among the planning parties couldn't be higher! The Artist, Shag
