From December 1st through December 31st, the historic district of Lancaster transforms into a living Advent calendar during the 4th Annual Advent Window Walk!

This one-of-a-kind experience — the only one of its kind in the United States — is inspired by a beloved German Christmas tradition. Just like in Germany, a different home each night unveils a festive, themed window display for the community to enjoy.

For 2025, the Advent Window Walk will showcase 27 themed window displays by December 26th, all centered around this year’s theme: “Pop Culture Christmas.” Visitors can expect creative displays inspired by iconic songs, movies, and literature! A total of 24 private homes in Historic Downtown Lancaster and 3 local non-profit organizations will participate, with the nonprofit displays honoring Christmas Day, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah.

The magic begins on December 1st, when the first window is illuminated. Each night that follows, a new window joins the lineup. Displays shine nightly from 6–10 p.m., December 1st through the 31st. Once all windows are lit, the full walk can be enjoyed on foot in under 30 minutes — or from the warmth of your car if you'd prefer to escape the winter chill.

Some homes will even host celebratory open houses on the night their window is revealed, adding a special touch to the experience.

Check out the schedule below to see each night’s illumination and theme — and make plans to be part of this enchanting holiday tradition!
