Frisch's Big Boy restaurants have long been known for their breakfast bars, the iconic Big Boy sandwich, and hot fudge cake. Currently, Frisch's Big Boy operates around 50 restaurants across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
However, the franchise is caught in a legal battle. The owners, NRD Partners I—a private equity growth and expansion fund based in Atlanta—are facing evictions in several communities due to unpaid rent to property owners, the Orlando real estate company NNN REIT.
NRD Partners I is reportedly $4.5 million behind in rent across the Frisch's portfolio.
On October 29, 2024, the Fairfield County Municipal Court granted NNN REIT the right to proceed with the eviction of the location at 1707 River Valley Cir N, Lancaster, OH 43130.
While an eviction date has not been set, a phone call to the restaurant revealed that it will close on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
Customers are encouraged to visit sooner rather than later for one last Big Boy or hot fudge cake.
As with any restaurant closure, there is a possibility that the business may choose not to order additional items to last through the remaining days. Guests should be prepared for a limited menu and changing item availability as the closing date approaches.
