Culver's

Lancaster continues to buzz with whispers of new businesses and restaurants arriving in town. With the recent announcements of Rural King, Chick-fil-A, Dutch Bros., and a new Mexican restaurant, Memorial Drive is getting busier by the day. And now, it may be about to get even more crowded—in the best possible way.

A recent zoning approval discovery suggests that Culver’s is likely joining Lancaster’s growing restaurant lineup. Paperwork indicates the new location is planned for the empty lot between Fairfield Medical Center’s River Valley Campus and the former Golden Corral (now the Salvation Army) right on Memorial Drive.

While details are still limited, early plans show the restaurant will be approximately 4,875 square feet with 65 parking spaces, a drive-thru, and a patio for outdoor dining when warm weather returns.

Culver’s currently operates just over 25 locations in Ohio, including three in Central Ohio, with two more on the way—Lancaster included. The family-owned restaurant, founded in Wisconsin, has built its reputation on Hometown Hospitality and Handcrafted Freshness. From the moment guests walk through the door, they’re greeted with genuine kindness. Employees are known for holding doors open, checking in on meals, offering refills, clearing trays, and delivering every interaction with a smile.

The heart of Culver’s hospitality traces back to the family matriarch, Ruth Culver, who treated every visitor to the original restaurant as a welcomed guest in her home. That tradition of warmth and care has carried on through all 900+ Culver’s locations across the United States.

If the plans move forward as expected, Lancaster residents may soon have a new go-to spot for ButterBurgers, cheese curds, and fresh frozen custard—all served with the signature Culver’s friendliness that has made the brand beloved nationwide.

Culver's Chicken Sandwich

Whether guests order a ButterBurger®, cheese curds, custard, fries, or any other menu favorite, Culver’s has vowed never to compromise on quality. That commitment extends to how each meal is prepared—fresh, every time. The restaurants use fresh, never-frozen beef, whole white-meat chicken from farms across America, and farm-fresh dairy for their signature custard. Every ButterBurger® is made to order and served on a lightly buttered, perfectly toasted bun. And the custard? It’s crafted in small batches throughout the day, right in the restaurant.

Each Culver’s features a wide-ranging menu, including their famous Wisconsin Cheddar–topped burgers, Wisconsin Cheese Curds, Crinkle-Cut Fries, chicken sandwiches, seafood options, fresh frozen custard (with a daily Flavor of the Day), and plenty of other crave-worthy choices.

As of now, there is no confirmed timeline for when construction will begin or when the restaurant might open. However, construction crews have already placed bids on the project, meaning Lancaster could start seeing movement shortly after the new year.
